Spring is almost here and the crocuses have raised their heads in most places. Daylight Savings starts this Sunday; when I get over the shock of losing an hour's sleep I'll enjoy the extra hour of daylight.
I'm off to Minneapolis next week so I'll still take my big coat, but really, I think that the worst of winter is over.
I am back to my travels around the world after the 10 day show marathon in Brooksville, FL. But just because I have to work doesn't other members of the Tessier/Wyntuk team aren't busy at the shows.
Karen Huey put the first points on our Tessier Wyntuk By Golly, while Billie Pruitt and Anna Schemm went to four days of shows in Lakeland FL and won 2 days with Tessier BCP Wuntuk By Moonlight, one day each with Tagalong Tessier Heirloom Rose and Tessier BCP Wyntuk By a Mile.
Another source of exciting news is that our first Specialty for the new Silky Terrier Club of Central Florida has been approved for Friday August 12, 2011 in Orlando FL. If you would like a Premium List for this show, please let me know! Just click on Contact US on the website.
I have been busy working on the CKC Group One trophy portraits and have done four so far -- only ten left to go!
This Sheltie has a lovely headpiece.
This Frenchie has a world of wisdom in his eyes.
This Min Pin has a small deer behind her, because in German the breed is also called a "Reh" (or deer) pinscher.
Yes, this Australian Shepherd is not a small dog! But still, lovely.
Global Stray Dog Population Crisis
from the NAIA -- National Animal Interest Alliance
It's interesting when considering heart rending pictures of homeless pets with half cocked ears and hopeful eyes to realize that we need to use our heads here as well as our emotions. What is the rest of the story? Check out http://www.naiaonline.org/Library/understanding_animals/global_stray_dog_population_crisis.html.
Wyoming Passes Positive Animal Cruelty Bill
I'm so used to fighting wrong-headed legislation, it's really wonderful to hear about a new law that actually makes sense. Check out: http://www.akc.org/news/index.cfm?article_id=4338
Do Foxes Count as Small Dogs?
There were two news pieces about foxes in last month's news. One was an article in
It recounts an experiment in Siberia where foxes were selected generation after generation for their pet-ability, that is, for their interest in human contact and willingness to be human companions.
The other news piece is a delightful and silly video about foxes. Check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8xJtH6UcQY -- and enjoy!
I completed a 2 month process in January of updating our store, adding Tshirts and belly bands (these are bands that go around your boy's middle that help in the house training process). We changed the store so much we renamed it:
The PawPrint Gallery.
I can customize any card. And if you see a portrait or comic you'd like to have on a card or T Shirt, let me know. I'll see what I can do.
And as always, enjoy!

Christmas is over. Why should you bother about dog cards?
Think of it this way. A beautiful card sent to say "thanks" or to tell a friend you care never goes out of season.
The PawPrint Gallery
And if I don't yet have your breed or you'd like a custom card made from your photograph, I can easily do that. A custom portrait costs just $100.00. Then cards are just 10 for $15.00. No shipping and handling! You can email me directly at email@example.com and tell me what you are looking for.
Here is my upcoming schedule. If I am heading for your neck of the woods, let me know! Some dates may change slightly as the trip approaches. I will update the calendar in future newsletter issues.

And I for one wouldn't have them any other way.
