He makes me laugh :)

A while after I was done grieving the loss of my 14yr old rescued mutt to Lymphoma, I met a 10 months old Jack Russel/Chihuahua mix at the local pound. He was a very scared little boy, but became a happy little sweet dog after going to puppy classes and getting comfortable with his new environment.

6 months later, I heard him yelp in the yard, and I found him with several puncture wounds. He was paralyzed neck down, and required a major surgery and care to get back on his feet, but the miracle dog regained all of his functions. The vet and I suspected he was attacked by a coyote.

6 months later, my neighbors Rottweiler kept jumping into my yard over the 6 foot fence and fought with me to take my dog from my arms. He sustained several puncture wounds and was traumatized by the ordeal... poor thing... I wondered if the first attack was by the same dog...

As the pain subsided, he perked up and became a happy little dog again.

I don't know if he's lucky for surviving 2 major attacks or unlucky for being attacked so much. All I know if he makes me chuckle by being so cute and goofy, and give me a sense of family by always greeting with utmost enthusiasm every time I walk back in the door :)

By the way, I love all dogs. I am a dog portrait artist :)

I had NEVER let him out in the yard alone after his first attack. The dog actually squeezed herself into my living room through an opened sliding door, jumped on me and tried to play tug or war with my dog in my arms. The owner was a complete jerk and would not even pay the vet's bill for the bite wounds, so I called the Animal Control Department and had the Rottweiller removed !
